Hey guys!
Long time no talk eh? I hope everyone had a good summer or winter (whichever the past few months brought you). I also want to extend my continuing thoughts and well wishes to those on the East coast of N. America who have been affected by multiple storms recently (and other parts of the world that have been affected by mother nature). It's at these times we are reminded of everything we are thankful for.
I don't have anything new in terms of cosplay, and probably won't for still awhile yet. I'm sorry about that
I really miss cosplaying XD But I wanted to update this place so figured Id give a life update for anyone who's interested.
My medical leave from work extended throughout the summer. I was hoping to really focus on my health during this time; unfortunately I didn't have a good time dealing with the HR from my work - who ended up making me even more stressed at times.
I did a lot of hiking throughout the summer which I LOVED. A friend and I spent almost every day exploring new hiking trails.
A street we found on one of our explorations
A huge highlight of the summer was FINALLY getting to see the Canadian comedian, Russell Peters, live when he came to Vancouver. I went with my friend for my birthday and we got awesome seats! The show was hilarious!!
We also went to see the Dinosaur exhibit at the Provincial Museum in Victoria (and like the adults we are played around in the kid zone)
My dad got a job away from home so I went to go visit him for a couple weeks and had fun relaxing, checking out Edmonton (the new city he works in). He lives in a condo right next to this adorable tram transit system.
This one reminded me so much like the one from Spirited Away. It was a street car from the 1940's Japan that barely needed any work done before it was up and running again. There were a few other ones as well that they switched between, my favourite was one restored from 1912.
My good friend got a pug puppy and so I am living through her and have self appointed myself as his second guardian lol. Isnt he adorable?! Ill admit... I was never really a fan of the look of "squished face" dogs ...but this little guy as stolen my heart. This is a wonderful breed that has really surprised me.
The most attractive photo ever We didn't choose the

His name is Jack ^^
Summer came and went; I attended PAX for the first time over labour day weekend in September. Shortly after I returned to work only to end up quitting a week later based on some issues again with HR and not getting the things I was promised upon my return.
I am now focussing on my health and mentally in a way better place than I have been in awhile. Trying to get my life on track and working towards my goals. I actually made a little bit of progress towards my dream career which I can't share juuuust yet but am getting excited to share with everyone soon ^^
I think possibly the thing I was MOST excited for as of late was the Korean band: Big Bang's, concerts in North America.
ultimaaa and I bought tickets to the Anaheim, CA show which was the first weekend of November. I have no words, only FEELS. It had been awhile since I was *THAT* excited for something and it
certainly did not disappoint. Here is some photo spam:
Myself and
ultimaaa with our BIGBANG glow sticks just before heading to the venue
(not sure why there was an Alberta advert lol)
The concert started with this giant cover dropping and showing the band on stage behind it.
They had a second mini stage that came out into the audience, we had really great seats, especially when they came out to this area.
G-Dragon on one of the stage's rising/lowering platforms
GD played "Cray-on" for the first time in the Galaxy tour, even translated into English for us!
After the concert
ultimaaa had asked me,
"so... apart from ALL of it - what was your favourite part?"
My answer: "uhm....ALL OF IT!" lol
But if I haaaad to pinpoint some, Id say Daesung's "Wings" solo... that boy can SING! I was so happy when we got to see the giant wings he wears. Id also say when the entire stadium sang "Haru Haru" for them, all of TOP's bday moments and his dancing, and the entire half hour long encore that got more intense than what was already an intense concert. So much dancing! Definitely FANTASTIC BABY.
While in CA we stayed at the Red Lion hotel, literally right behind Disney Land.
It was actually a perfect area that had great food and shops just around the corner. We had flown in on a Friday afternoon and had lots of time to do things before the concert late Saturday night.
ultimaaa and I decided to have a dinner/movie date on the Friday as there was a big cinema down the street. As we were walking closer to the cinema I noticed something that made this awesome weekend even more awesome:
We ended up going to see "The Man with the Iron Fists" in a super lush 21+ theatre (that had a separate lounge area omg), had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory (with a super awesome waiter with the most outgoing personality ever) and then went back to the theatre to see "Wreck it Ralph". Omg....this movie..... I can't. I
might have an unhealthy obsession with Fix-it Felix. Cosplay is definitely happening. I can't stop smiling when I think of him in this movie lol! Go Disney!
I just went on a hunt for Fix-it Felix Jr. pics to post here and ended up distracted in the Fix-it Felix tag of tumblr for half hour OTL
Over the weekend we met up with
sakusakus for brunch and met up with at the hotel
GaMeReVX as he was also attending the concert and stayed with us for the last night.
ultimaaa and I enjoying the amazing SUMMER LIKE weather in NOVEMBER XD
Our last day in CA we ended up going to see "Wreck it Ralph" again because
GaMeReVX hadn't seen it yet XD One last meal at Cheesecake Factory - as well as a stop to get frozen yoghurt (PUMPKIN FLAVOUR OMG) then off to the airport. We got in pretty late into Vancouver as we had an evening flight which had been delayed on top of that. On Monday
ultimaaa and I grabbed breakfast, enjoyed some nice [cold] winter weather courtesy of Vancouver and then I headed back to Vancouver Island.
November continues to be super busy as Ive gone to Vancouver every weekend to either go wedding dress shopping with my friend who's getting married - or to attend a wedding for other friends (which is where I was this past weekend, so a big congrats to
kkcosplay )
I'd also like to take this moment to mention that my brother has spent the last year writing a book! The book is all about his time in Tokyo with the the girl he loved while having to adapt to the pressures that come with her disapproving family because he came from a different culture. He has a Kickstarter set up for those wanting to purchase the book or anyone wanting to support the project.

Grasping at Self Worth Jiminey Jaminey! That was a loooong journal. I guess to be expected when Im trying to cover half a year worth of events lol.
Signing off now... I should be in bed already, I actually need to be up pretty early to head to the hospital for a MRI scan....
All in all, I am definitely taking away that my second half of the year has really turned things around.... everything is still a work in progress but Im feeling motivated about life again and looking forward to the future. Now if we can just get my physical health to agree lol
Im trying to look on the brighter side of things, acknowledging
